They told me my brakes needed replacement. I took it to a reputable tire dealer who said my brakes were good for at least another year. In April, I had a 15 point test done in preparation for a very long road trip. I was told the brakes were at a 5. My wife and I came down with COVID, so we have only put 400 miles on the car since then. Yet suddenly my brakes were at a "2" and needed $1,800 repairs. This is the second time they have recommended repairs that I did not need. The very first time I brought my car in for a "recall," they told me I needed two new front tires for $900 Again, I took the car to a reputable tire dealer and was told that I barely had any wear on my tires. Are the constant barrage of recalls on both my VWs just a way to get me to the dealer to be scammed?
